Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has recently been recognized at the Emirates Recycling Awards, hosted by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG). RAKEZ emerged as the winner of the ‘Glass Collection Campaign’ and was also honored as one of the top 10 champions in the ‘Can Collection Campaign’. This recognition is a testament to RAKEZ’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and its role as a key player in recycling and environmental conservation.
For several years, RAKEZ has actively collaborated with EEG, participating in various waste recycling initiatives and receiving recognition across multiple categories. This partnership has been instrumental in driving sustainable practices within RAKEZ and promoting environmental awareness.
During this year’s bi-annual campaign, RAKEZ achieved an impressive milestone by collecting 15,056 kilograms of glass bottles from Al Hamra and Al Ghail areas in just eight months. This remarkable feat showcases the dedication and efforts of RAKEZ’s teams in ensuring the success of the campaign. The collected glass bottles were handed over to the EEG team for recycling, contributing to the UAE’s sustainability efforts.
