Static electricity-related incidents at gas stations are extremely unusual, but the probability is higher during cool, cold and dry climate conditions. Therefore it’s important to avoid any risk of fire that can spread rapidly at gas stations.
Don’t fill the gallons with fuel when located in the trunk of your car. Instead, fill them while on the ground for them to be earthed and free of electrostatic charges, in order to avoid all types of gas accumulation.
